Kalimpong: Fourteen-year-old Paril Lepcha of Bongbasti has shot into the limelight once again by winning medals at the 33rd West Bengal Archery Championship held on May 28 and 29 at Salt Lake in Calcutta. While Lepcha won a gold medal in the 30 m and a bronze in the 20 m, she won a silver for overall performance.

KALIMPONG, May 30. — Suman Rai (name changed to protect identity) was seen loitering on the outskirts of the town on the night of 25 May. A couple of hours later, on the very next morning, residents of 8 Mile found him dead on the floor. The cause though is believed to be OD (a commonly used phrase which means overdose) due to heavy intake of drugs. (more…)

Kalimpong, May 24: The Sikkim Darjeeling United Action Forum today accused Pawan Chamling of influencing associations and individuals against it.
The statement comes after some local dailies reported that certain organisations based here labelled the forum a “trouble maker”. They reportedly distributed pamphlets, warning people to keep a safe distance from the forum. (more…)
