KALIMPONG, June 13.— Accusing GNLF of neglecting hill issues, the Kalimpong branch of the Akhil Bharatiya Gorkha League (ABGL) has said that this even time the “Sixth Scheduleâ€, will only turn out to be a public eyewash.
“Serious issues like lease hold land, no mans land , the court case at Hague and Mall-Matelli, have been mere topics of discussion for ,the GNLF chief and now the sole administrator, Mr Subash Ghisingh. It can be taken for granted that sixth schedule too will face the same fateâ€, Kalimpong general secretary of ABGL Mr Tribubhan Rai alleged.
Significantly, senior party leaders of this Opposition front and faction of the PDF have also demanded for an inquiry of the statements made by Mr Ghisingh earlier this week at the Capitol Hall in Darjeeling. “There are various instances where anti-national people like Mr Ghisingh have been arrested. Both the union and the state should attach importance to the claims made by Mr Ghisingh and follow it up by an inquiryâ€, ABGL leader Mr Pratap Khati said. Mr Ghisingh hinted at a separate country in his address.
A 31-member unit committee of ABGL, at Bhalukhop, was also formed yesterday.
Another 33-member committee, Tarun Gorkha, youth wing of AGBL, was also constituted.
