Kalimpong, Aug. 21: A sleepy hill town is gearing up for snazzy club culture.
Come September, and a luxury club sponsored by Resolve Jinni International will be set up at 12 ½ Mile near here.
Christened Club Wayside Heritage, and still under construction, the club in its first phase is expected to offer facilities like a creche for children of the members, an air rifle range, a bowling alley and a discotheque.
“The people of Kalimpong have nothing to do in the evenings. By opening this club we wish to address this problem primarily. He added that the second phase would include two more restaurants, tree houses, thatched mud houses and other facilities.
The cost of setting up the club will be somewhere around Rs 30 lakh.
However, it will be open only to married people over the age of 26 years and with an annual income of more than Rs 1, 25, 000.
“We will be taking a one time membership fee of Rs 20,000 for the first phase and once the second phase is over, a member shall have to pay a sum of Rs 65,000. The annual maintenance fee will be Rs 1,200. The members will have to pay some minimal charges for organising parties on the club premises,” said Pradhan.
