Kalimpong, Sept. 20: Horror speaks a new language now — Nepali.

The first television horror serial in Nepali, Jha Jhalko, is currently being shot at various locations near Kalimpong and Lava. Of the proposed 52 episodes of the serial, three have already been aired on the channel Nepal 1.

The serial is being directed and produced by the Nepal-based director Tulsi Ghimeray. According to Ghimeray, this is the first time that a serial is being made on a subject like this.

Speaking about his choice of location, Ghimeray said: “The main reason why we use this location is that apart from its scenic beauty, it is also easy to work here with the cooperation we get from people.”

Ghimeray is known for directing hit Nepali films like Darpan Chayia and Dakshina. He is producing the serial under the banner of Narvada Films.
