Kalimpong, Nov. 8: People of Kalimpong are preparing for a gala time as the food festival Razzmatazz enters its third consecutive year.
The food fest is the only one of its kind in the Hill town and is organised by Good Shepherd Institute of Hospitality Management. This year, the festival will take place on November 12 and 13 and, like the previous years, the organisers have promised live music to go with the food. Calcutta-based band Shiva is expected to regale the food-lovers this time.

Director of the institute Alvin Lama said: “From this year, the festival will be held on two days and the food will be prepared by professionals.” Earlier the food was cooked by students of the institute under their teachers’ guidance.

This year, food buffs can choose from more than 140 different dishes including local food like sikam pa (a dried meat preparation) and emadatchi (a cheese and chilli preparation) — both Bhutanese dishes — and the various Newari achars from Nepal. Continental dishes like roast duck in cranberry sauce and the Italian rissotto will provide the international touch while reshmi kabab, tandoori prawns and paneer pasinda will represent the home front.
