karma paljor, i presume is a sikkimese lad …so why does he have to write about his visit to Darjeeling..in the same vein as a white doctor traveling into the underbelly of the dark continent…with somebody like Foday Sankho or Charles Taylor running a rogue parallel government…with check posts and anonymous, menacing ‘two boys escorting’ him into some place journalisticaly meaningful…
could be that he is writing for another readership…one that will find a certain quaint ‘other’ air about the travails here…
